I relate to cumdumps/faceless bttms through the specific character of their needs. They have to “emerge” from gay culture, and yet they seem to refuse sexuality as a culture (something to be experienced through sublimation and delay, elaborated on, talked about, etc). I also feel that as I get older, desires become harder to articulate, so it becomes tempting not to articulate them at all & negotiate acts directly. Moreover, I appreciate the ethical dismissal: whereas I feel I need authenticity in my life right now, my one idea of “a true picture” (a=a) is laced with panic and fear.
